City of Austin Property Rate Election
Nov 4 all-day

The Austin City Council has approved increasing its property tax rate from $0.4776 per $100 of property value to just over $0.574. This large of an increase requires voter approval. Election day for Prop Q is Nov 4th, with early voting before that. The Council also approved rate and fee increases for water and trash services.

Travis County Commissioners approved increasing its property tax rate by 9.12%. The county says it needs more money for flood damage repairs, emergency preparedness, and infrastructure. Hays County approved increasing its tax rate by 14.26%

AISD released its district-wide consolidation plan, which trustees will vote on in November.  While nearly all campuses were impacted by boundary changes, the new proposed boundaries do not change any of the schools zoned to homes in Meridian. You can check out the plan by going to austinisd.org/consolidate
